Common annual herb. Fast growing to 50cm high.
Fresh leaves and seed used in many dishes like chutneys, salad, fish and meat dishes. All parts of coriander plant are edible. Leaves need to be used quickly once picked as they lose their aroma. Dried coriander seed has a lemony citrus flavour when crushed. Roots are used in Asian foods such as soups and curries.
Coriander grows best in hot and humid conditions. It bolts to seed when the weather conditions change.
Coriander does not have any pest and disease problems. The more you harvest the fresh leaves the longer your plant will last.
